with Her Deceptive Duke, I certainly didn t expect to be a little disappointed with this one I feel a little bad to be writing this review, especially after I d really loved the author s previous 3 novels a lot but I really didn t enjoy this book It started out quite well and I was very intrigued after the tragic early scene where the H s best friend is tortured and murdered 2.5 stars.But after the wonderful hat trick that started with Her Reformed Rake, continued with Darling Duke and ended with Her Deceptive Duke, I certainly didn t expect to be a little disappointed with this one I feel a little bad to be writing this review, especially after I d really loved the author s previous 3 novels a lot but I really didn t enjoy this book It started out quite well and I was very intrigued after the tragic early scene where the H s best friend is tortured and murdered It did establish a solid justification for the H s subsequent inner angst and torment but the storyline started to lose its momentum at the 50% marker The storytelling got a little monotonous at this juncture and the H s angst started to evolve into some serious manbaby manpouting I had found him very sexy at the start but you have been warned It s a great story of love , betrayal and redemption One that is just so good.Any steam is totally part of the story , he s depraved , it s his way , but can Jacinda tame him
