the second book that I remember where the Black parents are portrayed as rigid and prejudiced I have no clue what Black families this author hangs around Her portrayal of Black people is a problem for me This is the first book where the white family isn t portrayed as loving and kind compared to the Black family On top of that who would stay with a man who let his mother disrespect you in such a difficult to finish this title I think it started out well enough but began to drag and at times have moments that were completely unnecessary At one point, I just started to skipped through until I saw a flash of something interesting.Trying to think how many books I have read of Xavier I know her style love the cover Love is love there are so many heartwarming and heartbreaking moments in this read such banter and chemistry quick read for me.Xavier hit the nail on the head with Carly and Dusty beautiful broken forbidden love story.Emotional intense amazing beautiful book
