divisive year of 1968 as a backdrop, the story centers around NASA s hurried plan to beat the Russians and become the first to send a manned mission into lunar orbit and keep hope alive for a moon They knew that their mission had been rushed, in order to beat the Russians to several achievements, and the stress that this put on their families and personal lives was told in this book The technical side of the mission was also explained clearly, and I found that to be extremely interesting The only weakness, for me at least, was that the story sometimes wandered off into the personal lives of their families a little too much, in ways that didn t add to the st...First off I want to say which I love reading non fiction , this one was a struggle for me to get through, and I never
