that diminishes its raw earnestness at times Alison Bechdel imposes her obsessive compulsive desire for extracting meaning from even the most commonplace of occurrences on to a narrative of coming to terms with personal loss And this whole exercize of drawing parallels between fictional and real life tragedies and pivotal emotional beats becomes too trite all too soon Maybe she should have known
