part in the EMS Heat series First of all, I was a little disappointed that Circling the Drain wasn t featuring Jensen, Ryder s brother as a main character Knowing Hecht s usual way of introducing new main characters in the previous installments, I was pretty sure that it would be the same this time Instead, we got some pretty new characters, that hadn t been mentioned before Grif has been a paramedic for many years and he 2.5 stars After Blamestorming I was really looking forwar...2.5 Nothing wrong with the young small twink who s been used and abused finding an older bigger slightly jaded hero to love and help him.I like those books as much as the next person and lots of times pick up a book because that s exactly what I want to read.BUT, and this is my personal peeve, I am getting sick and tired of the younger man, and in this case, Kevin is a man, he is a paramedic, he s working, dealing with shit without whining, dealing with an asshole of a father , being called a BR anyone s behavior can be called bratty it would be the older and supposedlymature Grif He yells and threatens his colleges, so much so that if he can t stick it out with a partner he will lose his job So, him calling Kevin a brat numerous times in this book, just really annoyed me no end cue rant ends Another thing i...Nothing new here, which is a good thing for those of us who love Stephani Hecht s Lay s Potato Chips can t eat just one EMS Heat series Sexy, gay EMS boys, falling in lust then love Short and sweet, nothing too heavy I ll have another please Always recommendedThe romance part of the story was lovely, however view spoiler How many times I have to read about any kind of abused that really make me so cranky and I can t focus on anything but those parts of the story that it bothers me so much.For example, when Kevin father hit him..Kevin said He didn t mean it Plus, it s not like I m a kid any, so it s not abuse really are you kidding me so, when adults are abused, that s mean it s not abused because there are not children well, that s The romance part of the story was lovely...I really like this series but I felt that with this episode something was missing The emotions of the characters felt quite flat It was an ok read but not as engaging as some of the earlier stories.Another quite enjoyable continuation to this series.Nice pairing, I liked the age difference, although it was a little funny seeing Grif thinking about it as huge while it s only 10 yo and about himself as old he s o...Another hurt comfort insta love story from this author It felt rushed and had yet another abused hero The repetitiveness and hurry with which the stories are written, are getting a bit tiresome.I do believe this is my new favorite in the series.The EMS Heat Series by Stephanie HechtI m reviewing this entire series in one go because they all have similar themes Each book is short and sweet little bite sized stories when you want to pick up something quick to read I read each one in one sitting.This is one of those series previously called St Michael s that centres on a group of men who work in emergency services It is a glorious combination of EMTs, firemen, nurses, doctors Each book is relatively short 100 pages and make The EMS Heat Series by Stephanie HechtI m reviewing this entire series in one go because they all have similar themes Each book is short and sweet little bite sized stories when you want to pick up ...Nothing new found here unfortunately I will say though that I was put off a bit by how the treatment Kevin faced at the hands of his father was handled view spoiler The fact that he didn t press charges, sort of dismissed excused his father s violent behavior, and wasn t prompted by Grif to do anything about it, really bugged me hide spoiler It was like this bit was just added to increase the drama and was forgotten in the long run so the MC s could have their happy ending Made no sense Nothing new found here
